What I know about YOU!

Again a saturday afternoon.
Again lots of stuff to do.
Again I’d rather like it more to write Plog posts.

;-)

Todays topic are YOU!

This post is about all the people reading my blog.

Stoph managed to give me an account for Google Analytics and implemented two more script lines in my blog. And now I got quite a bit information about my readers ;-)

And if you are shocked now what I know about my surfers: Your own computer is sending this data! I got only a online tool to make some statistics out of that. It seems to be that many people are very interested in the surfers behaviour. So am I. But just for fun.

Lets begin with the explanation why this article is in English: I know that in the last week about 15% of the readers had their computer set to English language. So it’s just fair to include them in such a maybe delicate topic :-)

Also there have been a significant amount of visits from Italy (11%) in the week before. But first I can’t speak any Italian and second: these “users” are all sitting in Rome. And making an estimation I would say that all these “users” are exactly one person I know there :-)
But, and that’s what I can also take a look at, sometimes she’s looking three times a day for new posts. Wow. I guess she rather likes me ;-)
Some kisses to Italy for my Plog’s groupie :-)

I know about 50% of the users use a Firefox (congratulation, that’s wise) and about 10% a Linux. To be honest this is also influenced by myself. I’m also registered in this statistics but I’m (most of the time) not a Plog reader.

The article about connecting your PC with the University Network with a simple FTP link is at the moment the most opened page. But this was just because I thought the topic might be important for more people than me and I posted the link in StudiVZ so 80% of the people seemed to came by this way. Nevertheless 15% came through google to this page. And only half of the people starting with this article also finished their Plog browsing also there. The others must have clicked a least one more page. So this article seemed to make good promotion for the Plog :-)

In generally (over the last three weeks) I can see that people starting with the main page are also leaving from there just with a chance of 50%. This means that half of the people stay for a while, click to one or more articles and leave (maybe bored) from there. Strange what I can see, isn’t it?

But moreover I know that maybe every third reader is coming to the Plog by google. Not bad. The week before last week there have been 50%. But on average most of the people type or click on the direct link (www.plog.avalon-arts.de or related)

I also know that there was no day till now where I had more than 30 users. But still having on average 15 people per day was surprising me. I thought there might be 3 or so :-) It’s hard to estimate this number because before I could only see how many comments have been written – and this number is not very high, believe me. But seeing that there are much more readers than expected gives me hope not to write all just for my own peace of mind ;-)

Oh, and between 30 and 50% of the readers are here not for the first time. This also looks a bit like still some people would like the Plog – not just me and my Italian groupie :-)

So, that’s the statistics for today.
If anyone want’s to know, if I know also her panties’ colour just ask me ;-)

Amazing how much I seem to know about you, my readers. But to appease you: I won’t change much with this new knowledge. There will be no adds matched to your browsing behaviour. And there will also be not more worldshaking news here as they are at the moment.

But the amount of readers per day is still giving me hope and satisfaction.
THANKS TO ALL THE READERS (, you push my ego and you are responsible if I’m writing more stuff in the future :-)
