Applied Biomech 2007
Last week here at the University of Applied Sciences there has been the Symposium “2nd Applied Biomechanics” with the subline: “Medicine meets Engineering”.
As one might expect as outsider now it was a meeting of either medical doctors and mechanical engineers talking about all the topics that affect both sciences.
So we had three days of relaxed comming together, talking and discussing and making connections. (Was a bit less relaxing for us as organizers but nevertheless very inspiring and stimulating.)
The pictures of the first two of three days are available now on our website here. (And I guess next week the rest will be.)The feedback from the normal participants was quite good, everyone seems to be fully satisfied and told us their will to join the next Biomech, too. One major point was the fact that we got not too much talks but a good part of social program. This tremendously helps scientist comming together closely making much stronger contacts than they would else. So the main aim of Biomech is to connect influential people for the benefit of all sides. Alongside in the talks they get the impressions of what these people are researching at the moment. Sounds like a brilliant concept (which of course can’t work at too big conferences with too much interesting talks and too less leisure time together).
Students feedback’s also fine. Seems to be that we’ve inspired a good part of them. (Hopefully this will increase the number of young researcher in biomechanics in the next two years here in Regensburg and in the research institutes participating Biomech 2007.)
Following week seems to be much more relaxed for the labs assistances and professor Hammer.
Nice conference, lovely people, new connections, good talks, gorgeous leisure time program, fine food, many helping hands, good organisation. Seems to be everything fine now :-)
