The Golden Nano-Rabbit

This is the famous Golden Nano-Rabbit I found last week!
(Unfortunately you need a Transmission Electron Microscope in order to see it ;-)

The rabbit consists of particles with a diameter of around 25 atoms (equals 6nm). So the total rabbit is made of probably 1 million (106) atoms.

(Bear in mind that 12 grams of carbon got around 6 * 1023 atoms!
The number of these Nano-Rabbits you’ll have to align to reach around a single hair would be around 1000!
Or: if any man in the world would have one nano-pet and we would all meet and take them together on a surface, it would be just enough to cover a tiny little marble.)

Amazing.

Amusing.

Science is fun.
